HR AUDIT A human resource audit enables organizations to comprehensively assess their HR practices. Throughout the process, we listen and watch for gaps between “what is” in your organization and “what should be” or “could be”. We evaluate your human resources policies and procedures for legal compliance, and best HR practices. It gives the opportunity to identify current practices and uncover employment-related legal exposure. The audit includes the following steps: • On-site interviews: Personal interviews are conducted with HR personnel, managers and others who are familiar with and responsible for various HR activities. • Records review: A review of employee records and policies are reviewed for appropriate documentation, and to assure documentation is kept in the proper location. • Report preparation: A comprehensive report is prepared that summarizes your current practices, identifies concerns with those practices, and presents suggestions for improvement. • Report presentation: A final conference is held where we present the report, explains the concerns and suggestions, and discusses alternative strategies to address these concerns. The audit reviews the full range of HR activities, including how your organization is structured, recruitment/selection, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, employee communications, safety and recordkeeping. Identifying “gaps” between policy and practice cannot only increase legal compliance but also increase efficiency and productivity, contribute to your quality improvement processes and enhance employee satisfaction. |
